ANDREA LOMBARDO

Andrea Lombardo Architect

Andrea Lombardo is a Project Architect specialized in sustainable architecture with work experiences in Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Japan. 

 

His education includes a Master's degree in Advanced Studies in Architecture-BarcelonaTech (MBArch) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-ETSAB), focused on technological innovation and advanced knowledge in new materials, technologies, sustainable architecture and temporary housing. Final project is a temporary house made from shipping container with thermal insulation near a ZEB concept (zero energy building).

 

He studied architecture at the Politecnico di Torino with an exchange program at the HafenCity Universität Hamburg with REAP Courses (Resource Efficiency in Architecture and Planning) focused in post carbon architecture, new generation of buildings and  renewable resources. The academical experience was full of international workshops in Taiwan, Italy, Japan focused in smart cities, urban design and green buildings. 

 

In 2015, Andrea was appointed as Assistant Professor of Design for a workshop in Taiwan within Feng Chia University, Politecnico di Torino and University of Tokyo centered in sustainable urban design. In 2021 I was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Politecnico di Torino concerning a course on energy design of buildings and the design of urban spaces against global warming.

 

Currently he is working as Project Architect based focused in principles, strategies and analytic techniques of environmental design and  he is doing research about temporary housing nZEB. He is professor at the Idées House, School of Architecture and Design in Lausanne (Switzerland) about energy concept in architecture. 

 

The goal is to develop a sustainable, innovative architecture for the post-oil era with great solutions for the future.
