The Barcelona Youth Center is located in the "Sants" district, northwest of Barcelona and about 600 m from Plaça d'Espanya. The client, the Generalitat of Barcelona (City Council) wanted to convert this disused space into a youth centre for the neighborhood.

The idea is to create different types of spaces such as a multipurpose hall, a classroom dedicated to technology and a space dedicated to emerging artists. The ground floor is completed by a semi-professional kitchen, services and technical rooms.

Natural light is essential for the activities within the structure. Thanks to the large openings in the facade can benefit from a large amount of natural light that reduces the use of artificial making the center for young people very high performance in terms of energy. In addition, these windows have been designed as a work/relaxation space where young users of the centre can sit and work at the same time.

Following an "industrial" style, the internal air-conditioning ducts and the air exchange were deliberately left open without any false ceiling.
